Samron was chosen by the City of Carbondale to make large-scale changes to Illinois Avenue from Mill Street to West Cherry Street in an area commonly referred to as The Strip. Work on this project included removal and replacement of sidewalks, removal and replacement of driveways, removal and replacement of curbs and gutters and the construction of storm sewers. Decorative lighting was also installed.
